Over the past week I have released two patches and we're now up to version 0.40.072. This update contains bug fixes and code optimizations that will hopefully cause a better play experience. I want to use this post to give a special thanks to the testing team that has been working dilligently to make sure the game updates are error free! They keep getting better at what they do and that means Revelation will also keep getting better. It is my hope that this major version will now stablize so that full resources can be devoted to developing 0.41, the next major version. In the coming weeks we will compile a features wish list to prepare a road map for all that will come in the new version...stay tuned... Have fun in Kaldana! Vasudeva

The newest game update for Revelation has finally arrived. As always you can find detailed patch notes in the forums. This update introduces an array of new features as well as balance changes that will make Revelation a better and more enjoyable game. Dear All: the newest patch for Revelation has arrived in version 0.40.04! Summoners finally got their AA20 skill and some other exciting new changes and fixes have been added. On an additional note the Revelation Auto Patch program has been updated and now works again to automatically download and bring all game files up to date when run. It is the most simple way to update your files when a patch like this one is released.

Just in time for Thanksgiving dinner! This patch is mostly full of bug fixes for items broken from the 0.01 version of Revelation 0.40. Druids should be happier to see spellpower now boosts the base effect of their damageshields, and the new functionality for Spell Reflection is fantastic for Enchanters. As always, check the game updates forum for full notes. Expect patch 0.40.03 to arrive tomorrow or Saturday. Please note that you must download a new game client to be able to play. You can find the files in the "Game Downloads" section of this website.

Please read the update notes in the forums for details on the latest update to Revelation. 0.40 is the first patch of its kind to replace the "major patch letter", i.e. version a, b, c, d with the new "minor patch number" which can represent simple fixes or additions to the game code. Starting today the frequency of server and game update should be much greater than they have been in the past couple of years. Combined with some other exciting plans in the works momentum is building towards the "renaissance" I hinted about back in August.

The Halls of Sorrow have reopened with significant tuning to the Guardian of Sorrows and Maestro Gormand encounters. The Guardian has a bunch of new tricks that should cause some havok to the unprepared group. Maestro's room no longer allows Ressurection but to counter this unique disadvantage Maestro's life, armor, resists, and spellpower has been tuned down. In order to help compensate for the Halls being closed for so long, all the boss mobs will be dropping double the loot for the immediate future. Please enjoy this small gift and have fun in there.

I find myself writing this in the later parts of August and I look back and see the last updates were made in early April. My apologies for the lack of communication and availability to the community of players. Such is the development cycle of this game that activity happens in great bursts of newness, followed by some sort of slow down, and finally a great silence for the next months as the "next big thing" is worked on. Well, that next thing is version 0.40 of the game and it is a huge one. I won't promise that it will be the best update ever, or will solve every problem experienced in the game. But it is the first to take a long, hard, and objective look at the entertainment value of Revelation and a full-fledged assault will be made to fight off the evils of (listed in no particular order): bugs, imbalance, tedium, lack of content, and grief (player-caused). I cannot say that a renaissance is on the brink of dawning in the world of Kaldana. But it just may, it just might. Sincerely, Vasudeva "Chief Architect"

The forums will be undergoing maintenance and upgrades to the lastest version of phpbb. A few things will also be added to hopefully reduce or remove the bots that have been visiting occassionally. The forums on the web server may be down for a short time.

Please check the Update notes forums for details on the latest patch. Working with Gummy I was able to really optimize and reduce a major source of lag in boss fights. The mob target bar was updating many times per second and sending data to client even if there was no change in the life %. Now the update is limited to once per second and will only send if there is a meaningful change in data. I hope you notice the effects of this change in your next boss run!
